Grounded in the symbolism of the East African savannah, this work presents the lion as an enduring emblem of authority and dominance. The forward motion controlled and deliberate transforms the subject from static representation into a force advancing with purpose.The surface treatment departs from naturalism, incorporating layered colour and textured pattern reminiscent of contemporary African mixed-media traditions. This interplay between realism and abstraction reinforces the lion not merely as wildlife, but as a constructed symbol of strength and presence. Set against a restrained, atmospheric background, the figure commands full attention. The composition is direct, unapologetic, and centred  echoing the lion’s role within both ecological hierarchy and cultural imagination.
